Warhorse Studios has announced that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will be pushed back from its original 2024 release date to February 11, 2025. However, fans can look forward to a sneak peek with 25 minutes of gameplay footage scheduled for release later in August.

The delay’s specifics weren’t detailed, with Warhorse’s PR manager Tobias Stolz-Zwilling simply noting on social media that “we slipped to 2025.” A brief video has been shared to communicate the updated release date and the studio’s upcoming plans.

“We aimed for a year-end launch and came close,” Stolz-Zwilling explained. “However, ‘close’ isn’t good enough, so we’ve adjusted to a 2025 release.”

A trailer for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is set to debut during Gamescom 2024’s Opening Night Live on August 20. Following this, the extensive gameplay video will be available on August 21, and a Collector’s Edition will be unveiled at the event. Attendees at Gamescom in Cologne will also have the opportunity to experience a playable demo.

The sequel promises significant enhancements over the 2018 original, including a map twice as large, new weapons, a more expansive story, and an updated reputation system. Warhorse’s creative director, Daniel Vavra, highlighted that the upcoming game aims to fulfill the vision initially intended but previously constrained by limited resources. “We’ve demonstrated the concept works,” Vavra said in April, “and now we’re ready to elevate it to the level we always envisioned.”
